The Great Falls Model Railroad Club annual spring model train show will be held at Mt. Ararat High School in Topsham on Saturday, April 30, from 10 to 3. Model trains in various scales, built by model train enthusiasts throughout Maine, will be operating all day. New display modules will include those created by students in this year’s Model Railroading Classes offered by the Great Falls Model Railroad Club through the Auburn Adult Education program. This year for the first time a special area has been set aside for narrow gauge displays, and vendors will sell narrow gauge items in that area as well.
Dealers from around New England will be available to answer questions and to sell new and used model railroad items. Train Time videos will be shown continuously and can be purchased. Mt. Ararat Sports Boosters will benefit from the sale of refreshments at the model train show, including coffee and donuts in the morning and luncheon specials beginning about noon. A children’s play area, with age-appropriate trains, will be located where parents can watch them while enjoying refreshments and conversation. Admission is $4 for adults and free for children under 12.
